New England Patriots
Tyler Dumas has gone viral, fielded double takes from strangers, and embraced unexpected local fame as the Patriots quarterback’s doppelgänger.

A 19-year-old freshman at Massasoit Community College has become a local celebrity thanks to his striking resemblance to the New England Patriots quarterback.
While Drake Maye is preparing for Super Bowl LX, Tyler Dumas is juggling classes and shifts at Ryan Family Amusements in Raynham.
The difference between the two is subtle: Think Drake Maye “if he customized his character,” Dumas said, pointing to his facial piercings.
The comparisons began during the Patriots’ preseason, when Dumas’s aunt first noticed the resemblance. Things escalated quickly after Ryan Family Amusements posted a TikTok featuring Dumas. The video — now the most viewed on the business’s page — sent commenters into a spiral.
“I looked at the comments, and it’s all like pictures of Drake Maye and [comments like], ‘Oh, you look just like him,’” Dumas recalled. “I think that’s so cool. I love that.”
Looking like an NFL quarterback has led to some unforgettable moments.
Around Christmas, Dumas was rear-ended in a minor car accident. When he stepped out to exchange information, he wasn’t met with an apology or a concerned, “Are you okay?” Instead, the other driver had a completely different question: “Anybody ever tell you that you look like Drake Maye?”
As Super Bowl Sunday approaches, the resemblance seems to come up more and more, Dumas said, in grocery stores, at work, and during casual small talk.
Still, Dumas said he doesn’t plan on letting the comparisons go to his head.
“I think I’m pretty much just going to stay Tyler,” he said, though he added the attention doesn’t hurt. “It definitely has added to my confidence — I can’t lie. It’s pretty cool being compared to an MVP.”

Born and raised in New England, Dumas is a longtime Patriots fan and admirer of Maye himself. Growing up, Dumas played football and has since become an avid bowler.
“He’s such an awesome, humble dude,” Dumas said. “I think it’s cool that people say I look like him. I’m just so happy because the Patriots are finally back.”
As for the Super Bowl, Dumas is optimistic, predicting a high-scoring Patriots win, even against a tough Seahawks defense.
“[The Seahawks] got a great defense, but I genuinely believe that the Patriots can get away with a few plays,” he said. “That’d be a great game to watch.”
And the inevitable question remains: Will he ever meet his football doppelgänger? Dumas said he hopes to one day.
“Obviously, I think he’s like one of the coolest dudes ever,” Dumas said. “I would love to play pass with Drake Maye.”
