Mark Delisle was arrested and charged with second-degree murder after he was spotted by an officer on detail, Police Chief Peter Marr said.
A man has been charged with murder in New Hampshire after a Londonderry man was found stabbed to death in Manchester earlier this week, officials said.
Mark Delisle, 32, is facing one count of second-degree murder and is expected to be arraigned in the Ninth Circuit Court in Manchester Thursday, New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella’s office announced.
Manchester police said officers responded to the area of Barry Avenue and Spruce Street around 9:20 p.m. Monday for a report of an injured man. The man, later identified by the AG as 35-year-old Yan Leek, was transported to Elliot Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
He died from a stab wound to the chest, according to an investigation conducted by the Chief Medical Examiner.
Delisle was arrested after an officer on detail “spotted the suspect,” Police Chief Peter Marr said.
“This arrest was the result of outstanding teamwork,” Marr said, “from the officers who responded, to the detectives and evidence technicians who processed the scene, to the keen observation of an officer on a detail who spotted the suspect. I’m proud of the professionalism, empathy, and integrity our Manchester police officers bring to this city every day.”
The investigation is still active and ongoing, the AG’s office said, including the “sequence of events leading up to the stabbing.” Anyone who may have any information should contact Manchester police detectives at 603-792-5518 or 603-792-5555.
