“You actually shut production down because you wouldn’t wear a Yankee cap.”

The beloved Bostonian bromance is back, which could mean nothing.
Actors and Cambridge natives Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, who have frequently collaborated on projects throughout their careers, went head to head in a battle over who the biggest Boston sports fan is while promoting their upcoming Netflix thriller “The Rip.”
In a video posted on social media by Netflix Sports, the pair is joined by their co-stars, Catalina Sandino Moreno and Sasha Calle (also a Boston native), to answer questions on which “Good Will Hunting” star is the biggest hometown sports supporter.
Damon was ultimately determined to be the better Patriots fan of the duo, but was outvoted on the question of who the better Red Sox fan is. And for good reason — the next question revealed that Affleck actually refused to wear a Yankees cap for his role in a movie, showing his devotion to the Sox.
“You actually shut production down because you wouldn’t wear a Yankee cap,” Damon laughed.
“No, the director shut it down by insisting I wear the hat,” Affleck replied. “I just took time to explain to him why it was a bad idea.”
The video’s final question was, “Who did Phil Jackson yell at when he cheered too loud for the Celtics?” The legendary basketball coach’s comments were directed at none other than Damon.
“Proving that I’m the greatest Celtics fan,” Damon said.
The greatest or, as Affleck replied, “The loudest.”
