Cardi B was spotted in the produce section of a Mass. Star Market

Even Grammy-winning artists have to run errands at the supermarket sometimes.

In a video posted on TikTok, Lanasia Bentley retells her chance encounter with hip hop star Cardi B while doing some shopping at around 2 pm on New Year’s Day. She noticed a Cadillac truck with New York license plates, which seemed out of place at her local Star Market in Dedham. The presence of a security guard in the produce section furthered Bentley’s suspicions. 

Upon noticing the rapper, she approached her saying, “Oh my gosh Cardi, how are you?” Bentley explained that the “Up” singer was “not in the mood,” replying to Bentley with a simple “I’m fine.”

Bentley then asked to take a picture with the artist.

Bentley expressed her gratitude for the singer’s cooperation in taking a picture with a fan when it seemed apparent that she did not want to be recognized.

“She was very nice,” Bentley recounted. “It was a very nice celebrity experience. And I love her.”

Bentley ended the video by telling her Boston-area followers to “stay vigilant” because “[Cardi]’s out here.”

Cardi B has reportedly purchased a mansion in Easton for $2.5 million dollars in late 2025. She is in a relationship with Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who is facing a felony charge of strangulation and a misdemeanor charge of assault from an alleged incident involving his personal chef on Dec. 2. Cardi B has defended her boyfriend against the allegations, and Diggs will continue to play with the Patriots in this season’s playoffs while the legal proceedings remain ongoing.
