New Movies Streaming
‘Eternity’ (2025)
If you enjoy a romcom with a fantastical premise, try this A24 title about a recently deceased woman (Elizabeth Olsen) who arrives at the afterlife and must decide whether to spend eternity with her also recently-deceased husband of 65 years (Miles Teller) or her first husband (Callum Turner), who has been waiting for her arrival since dying in the Korean War.
How to watch: “Eternity” is streaming on Apple TV.
‘Harold and Maude’ (1971)
An unconventional romcom, to say the least, Bud Cort (who passed away this week at age 77) plays a suicidal 20-year-old Harold, who gains a new appreciation for life thanks to his relationship with the free-spirited 79-year-old Maude (Ruth Gordon). Cort’s career peaked during this two-year run that included Robert Altman’s “M*A*S*H” and “Brewster McCloud,” but he continued to pop up in oddball roles for decades to come.
How to watch: “Harold & Maude” is streaming on Pluto TV.
‘When Harry Met Sally’ (1989)
It’s Valentine’s Day weekend, which means digging through the vast streaming libraries to unearth your favorite romcom. One of mine is this 1989 effort from Rob Reiner and Nora Ephron, who used elements of their own lives as inspiration for Harry (Billy Crystal) and Sally (Meg Ryan) — two brainy, verbose urbanites who test the hypothesis that men and women cannot simply be friends over a decade-plus of chance encounters and life phases.
How to watch: “When Harry Met Sally” is streaming on Hulu.
More new movies streaming this week: “Blue Moon” (Netflix); “Predator Badlands” (Hulu); “Song Sung Blue” (Peacock).
New TV Shows Streaming
‘Dawson’s Creek’ (1998-2003)
In honor of James Van Der Beek, who died this week at the age of 48 after a battle with colorectal cancer, revisit the teen drama that made him a household name. Set in the fictional town of Capeside, Massachusetts, Van Der Beek played artsy high schooler Dawson Leery, exploring an evolving relationship with the girl next door (Katie Holmes) and bouncing off a formidable cast of future stars including Michelle Williams and Joshua Jackson.
How to watch: “Dawson’s Creek” is streaming on Netflix, Hulu, and Tubi.
‘Love Is Blind’ Season 10 (2026)
What better way to spend Valentine’s Day than watching others succeed (and fail) to find love in the most extreme situation? For those unfamiliar, “Love Is Blind” became a huge hit for Netflix at the start of the pandemic. Contestants are matched up as couples through a blind speed dating process, and are then confined to pods for 10 days. They are only able to communicate with their partner through a speaker, and are only able to see their partner once a marriage proposal has been accepted.
How to watch: “Love Is Blind” is streaming on Netflix.
More new TV shows streaming this week: “The ‘Burbs” Season 1 (Peacock); “Cross” Season 2 (Prime Video); “Like Water for Chocolate” Season 2 (HBO Max)
