The commuter rail was significantly delayed by a signal issue on Wednesday, with some lines faced with cancellations, the MBTA said.

All 12 commuter rail lines experienced delays beginning Wednesday morning due to a signal issue, with some trains delayed up to 50 minutes, the MBTA said. Delays were impacting the system as of 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

More than 25 trains were canceled on Wednesday.

While the commuter rail was experiencing issues, the Blue Line had a power issue causing the line to shut down from Orient Heights to Wonderland park, the MBTA said in an X post.

Shuttle buses replaced the Blue Line from Orient Heights and Wonderland due to a track problem at the Suffolk Downs station, the MBTA said.

As of Wednesday evening the Blue Line issue has been cleared and regular service has resumed, the MBTA said.
