A New York man is facing conspiracy charges after he allegedly stole goods — including frozen snow crab, blueberries, and more than $400,000 worth of designer cologne — from several warehouses, according to prosecutors.

Romoy Forbes, 31, a Jamaican citizen living in Deer Park, N.Y., was charged Thursday with interstate transportation of stolen goods and conspiracy to transport stolen goods, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts said in a statement. He was arrested in Long Island, N.Y. and will make his first court appearance in Brooklyn, but he will appear in Boston federal court at a later date, prosecutors said.

Forbes allegedly conspired to hack the emails of truck-load carriers, using their accounts to book cargo with shippers and sell the goods for illicit profit, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. He allegedly stole a shipment of blueberries in June 202, from a Winslow Junction, N.J. warehouse.

Before the theft, a co-conspirator allegedly hacked a trucking carrier company’s email account and pretended to work for them, prosecutors said. Using the hacked account, the co-conspirator allegedly contracted a transportation business to ship the goods to a customer in Illinois.

At the warehouse, Forbes allegedly posed as a carrier company employee, loaded the blueberries into his truck, and drove away, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Instead of delivering them to the customer, he allegedly arranged to illicitly sell them to a phone contact named “My customer for everything.”

Forbes then allegedly stole 33,750 pounds of frozen snow crabs worth $325,000 from a Worcester warehouse in July 2025. A co-conspirator hacked the carrier company’s email and contracted a transportation business to ship the goods to a customer, this time in Jacksonville, Fla., the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

After arriving at the warehouse, he again allegedly posed as an employee for the carrier company, loaded the crabs into his truck, and drove off. Rather than delivering them to the Florida customer, he allegedly transported them to a grocery store in Queens, according to prosecutors.

Forbes allegedly organized a third theft later in July 2025, when he conspired to steal approximately $433,830 worth of designer cologne from a Ronkonkoma, N.Y. warehouse. Once again, a co-conspirator hacked the carrier company’s email and contracted a transportation business to ship the cologne to a customer in Los Angeles, prosecutors said.

As with the previous thefts, Forbes allegedly arrived at the warehouse, stole the goods, and drove away, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. He allegedly contacted his “customer for everything” and offered to sell the cologne, sending the contact a video of the stolen goods. Records filed in federal court show that the contact later agreed to sell the goods.

If Forbes is found guilty of interstate transportation of stolen goods, he faces a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000. For the conspiracy charge, he could face up to five years in prison, up to three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000, prosecutors said.

Forbes’ arrest was part of an FBI investigation into a network of co-conspirators committing cargo thefts nationwide, according to court records. His alleged co-conspirator has not yet been publicly identified by prosecutors.
