As the New England Patriots prepare for their 12th appearance in the Super Bowl, New England is once again settling into a familiar rhythm: the countdown, the nerves, the memories. 

Few teams have defined the Super Bowl quite like the Patriots, delivering moments that live forever in highlight reels — and in the lives of the fans who watched them unfold.

There was the franchise’s very first championship in 2002, sealed by Adam Vinatieri’s 48-yard field goal to win the game that announced the start of a dynasty. There was Malcolm Butler’s final-seconds interception that clinched the win from the Seattle Seahawks. And, of course, the Patriots are responsible for the largest comebacks in Super Bowl history when Tom Brady overcame their 28-3 deficit against the Atlanta Falcons to win 34-28. All this is to say the Patriots Super Bowls have never lacked drama.

But for many fans, the memories go beyond what happened on the field.

Maybe it’s the annual Super Bowl watch party you’ve hosted for years, complete with the same snacks and the same seat you refuse to move from. Maybe it’s a family tradition, gathering generations together in the living room, yelling at the TV and high-fiving strangers by the end of the night. Maybe it’s a superstition you swear by — wearing the same jersey or refusing to celebrate until the clock hits zero.
