After the US Senate failed to vote on a budget, a new funding deal endorsed by President Donald Trump has been reached. Democrats and Republicans are divided over funding for the Department of Homeland Security, the agency overseeing Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE. Democrats are demanding reforms to the department while Republicans say ICE agents deserve better treatment. The new budget will need 60 votes in the Senate. It will also have to be reapproved by the House, which will reconvene on February 2.#Senate #leaders #scramble #save #bipartisan #deal #avert #partial #government #shutdown1769783679
