Court records show the domestic assault case hearing for the defensive tackle has been delayed until March.

New England Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore’s arraignment in a domestic assault case has been postponed until after the Super Bowl, court records show.

The 26-year-old was originally scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 3, five days before Super Bowl LX. After his attorney requested a delay Friday — ahead of the AFC Championship game — the hearing was moved to March 9, records show.

Barmore is charged with one count of assault and battery on a family or household member, a misdemeanor stemming from an alleged incident in Mansfield on Aug. 8, 2025, according to charging documents.

According to a police report, Barmore is accused of grabbing a woman by the shirt during arguments over the settings of an air conditioner and food. The report also states that Barmore rushed toward the woman but never made physical contact.

The woman allegedly didn’t come forward sooner out of fear of retaliation, but decided to move forward with charges in September, the report said.

Court documents show that on Dec. 4, the woman later emailed police to say she no longer wanted to move forward with the charges.

Earlier this month, Barmore’s attorney released a statement: “We are confident that the evidence will demonstrate that no criminal conduct took place. Based on the facts and the law, we expect that this personal matter will be resolved in the near future and both parties will move forward together.”

The New England Patriots acknowledged the allegations against Barmore in a statement released in late December.

“The New England Patriots are aware of reports regarding a pending February arraignment involving Christian Barmore, which stems from an alleged domestic incident that occurred in August,” the statement reads. “The Patriots were made aware at the time of the incident and informed the NFL in a timely manner. The matter remains part of an ongoing legal process. We will respect that process, continue to monitor the situation closely, as we have over the past few months, and cooperate fully with the league. We will have no further comment at this time.”

Barmore’s teammate, wide receiver Stefon Diggs, also had a court hearing postponed this season. Diggs faces a separate allegation involving an attack on his personal chef, and his arraignment was also rescheduled for Feb. 13, after the Super Bowl.
