Fundraisers have been launched for the two people killed at a child’s birthday party in Carver.
The 2 victims, Jalen Pina, 20, and Benjamin Cowart, 27, were killed at a child’s birthday party at the Saint John Baptist Club on Jan. 24.
The victim’s families are raising money to cover funeral costs and other expenses.
“Benjamin was deeply loved and will always be remembered for his heart, his spirit, and the impact he had on everyone who knew him,” said Cowart’s GoFundMe.
Pina’s GoFundMe has reached its goal of $18,000, while Cowart has raised more than $7,000 as of Wednesday evening.
Two other victims of the shooting, ages 28 and 32, were taken to local hospitals.
The alleged shooter, Nicholas Meuse, 23, is charged in Wareham District Court with two counts of murder, armed assault, intent to murder, and multiple gun charges, court documents show.
Meuse has pleaded not guilty to all charges, according to court documents.
Massachusetts State Police and the Carver Police Department are still investigating the shooting.
