Q. We are
catering our own wedding but we want to hire a few waiters/waitresses
to pour champagne toast, cut cake, take orders for drinks, clean up,
etc. Are there services that do this type of work. Or do you have any
ideas on where I can look to find a wait staff? Any information you
can give me would be great.
A. There are temp
agencies that handle "banquet" personnel. You might call the banquet
manager at a large hotel and ask for a recommendation of who to call.
These people generally go from hotel to hotel performing this
service.
You could also call your local community college and
see if they offer a hospitality program that might have students who
would be willing to help you out. See if your town has a bartending
school. This is a good place to check as well as getting a qualified
bartender.
Be sure the servers are of legal age to serve
alcohol.
